Sara received her MFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design from Indiana University, and her BFA in 3-D Design with a concentration in Metals and Jewelry from Bowling Green State University. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, and has recently had work published in Showcase 500 Art Necklaces and On Body and Soul: Contemporary Armor to Amulets.
Her work, which integrates a variety of mediums and techniques, is largely influenced by and assembled from the examination of lived experiences. Sara is a co-founder and co-coordinator of the Smitten Forum, and through the spring and fall she teaches metalsmithing and jewelry at Pitt Community College in North Carolina. During the summer months she heads north to her home studio in Ohio.
